The 5th Coffee Session is dedicated to South African gqom house music. Originating from Durban, the genre took off in the West when Beyonce included "My Power" in her Lion King album.
In 2020, gqom has evolved from vocal heavy sound to more minimalistic and if possivle, even more synth heavy. Artists like Mshayi & Mr Thela, are holding the genre down with over a million views Their song iParty was one of the biggest jams of 2020.
